We are excited to announce that we now have internet access in our apartment, which means that we can use Skype. Skype is a program that lets you call land lines and cell phones from your computer for a very low cost (about 2.5 cents per minute). Even better, we can call other computers for free! All you need is a computer with internet access, a microphone, and a Skype account. You can sign up at http://www.skype.com/. Once you have downloaded the program, you can click the "Add Contact" button and type in our Skype Name (schiller-childs) or our e-mail address (laurieschiller@hotmail.com). When you add us as a contact, we will receive a message telling us that you are now on Skype. Since we have a Webcam, you will even be able to see us when we are talking (assuming we are presentable at the time). And if you have a Webcam, we will be able to see you as well. Gotta love modern technology!
We've already called a few people using both land lines and cell phones. Benjamin's brother Mark and his family already had a Skype account, and we have been chatting with them almost every day--more often than we spoke with them when we were living in the States! Most of you probably know that I am not much of a phone talker, but Skype may change all of that. We're looking forward to hearing from you!
