McDonald's in Beijing

Well, we've been in China for a month now, and we thought we had eaten enough Chinese food to warrant a trip to McDonald's. Now, don't get me wrong; we all really like Chinese food. Benjamin and Seth's favorite is dumplings, and my favorite is sweet and sour chicken. But not having a real kitchen means that we eat almost all of our meals at the school cafeteria, and cafeteria food gets old quickly. They have a lot of variety there, and it is super cheap, but it the same food every day--day in, day out. So on Monday we treated ourselves to a (relatively pricey) meal at at Mickey D's. We were thrilled that they had a high chair available for Seth; no other restaurant we have encountered has one, which means he usually ends up sitting on my or Benjamin's lap when we eat out. Seth enjoyed his fries, we enjoyed our Big Macs, and we all enjoyed eating familiar food again. We topped it off with ice cream and called it a night.
