My good friend Melanie visited us last weekend, and we had a great time catching up and having some girl time together. We spent most of our time together just hanging out, playing games, and swimming, but since it was Mel's first visit to the Detroit area, we thought it was important for her to see something. We ultimately chose the Cranbrook Institute of Science over the Detroit Zoo, solely based on the weather forecast (high 90s). The museum wasn't as hands-on as we were expecting, but they did have an impressive collection of dinosaur bones, including a T. Rex named Stan. I was moved to compose the line, "Stan, Stan, the T. Rex man," on sight, but Melanie promptly reminded me that Stan wasn't a man. Oh, Mel, what would I do without you?
Thanks for coming to see us, Mel. We had a great time and miss you already!
